Orthopaedic reps normally call on specialists, surgeons and physiotherapists in a hospital or clinic environment - often covering a large geographic territory. Products range from back braces and knee braces to prosthetics, surgical equipment and anaesthetics.
Orthopaedic sales rep – typical responsibilities
The role of an orthopaedic sales rep is very demanding, requiring high levels of commitment. You need the maturity and confidence necessary to feel comfortable when negotiating and educating senior hospital staff and on occasions you may be required to work alongside surgeons in the operating theatre to demonstrate products.

For orthopaedic sales jobs we are seeking people with suitable clinical expertise and a successful sales record in the hospital environment. Also experience in medical devices sales or as a medical sales representative will be useful. You must be strong on account management and have excellent communications skills - able to speak with authority to specialists and surgeons. You will also have the necessary skills to open up new commercial pathways within trust hospitals that are working to limited budgets.
